There is currently a decent rain/thunderstorm working its way through Pennsylvania. Combined with what looks like a fair amount of migration to our south, this has the potential to cause fallout conditions, particularly in eastern PA and New Jersey where the storm will be passing through later tonight. I think central PA may miss out since the rain will pass through early and conditions look good for migration the rest of the night. Any birds that where put down this evening will have plenty of time to recommence migration.
It will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings but lakes, reservoirs and rivers will be worth checking out. It’s a good time of the year for large waterfowl numbers with the right conditions and birds such as loons and grebes have been moving recently. It is also a great time to be on the lookout for scoters.
Let us know what you see and report it to eBird!
