I had the chance to try out some head-on flight digiscoping this past week at the Derby Hill Hawk Watch along the shores of Lake Ontario. I find this the trickiest because the birds are coming towards you and you need to be constantly adjusting the focus while tracking the bird. It is important to be familiar with your gear so you can be mindlessly adjusting these things as you follow birds across the sky, waiting for a great shot. A camera with a fast frame rate is handy to, as you can fire off 20 shots in a couple seconds, and at least 1 of them should be in focus.
