We are having a blast at the Biggest Week in American Birding, where the warblers are the highlight but lots of other species shine. In addition to the 28 species of warblers we have seen so far, the thrush show has been great. Swainson’s Thrushes are underfoot everywhere we look, peaking out behind trees, hopping ahead on the dirt paths, and calling from the wood lots. It’s a treat to see Swainson’s and Gray-cheeked Thrushes right next to each other, and to help newer birders seen the differences between the two.
