Regional Overview
I’ve been busy and so haven’t gotten posts up the last couple days. Overall it was a light night of migration. Birds are still on the move, as evidenced by a Kirtland’s Warbler that was found yesterday afternoon in Erie, PA. The species making up the bulk of nocturnal migrants is switching over to shorebirds. Check any small ponds and lake edges, in addition to the traditional shorebird hotspots. Rain events could set birds down anywhere, and great shorebirds are often found in surprisingly small puddles this time of year, making observation easy, once they are found.
