Common Grackles feeding young in Carey, Idaho!

Anna and I stopped by Carey on our way back to Boise in hopes of seeing a Great-tailed Grackle since we had missed them on our last visit. We didn’t find any, but Carey has also been a great place to find Common ‘Bronze’ Grackles recently, and we were able to find that species quite easily. There was a pair foraging in the yard of 20520 Main Street and another adult foraging along a canal nearby. After searching for about an hour and a half more for the Great-tailed Grackles, without success, we went back to watch the pair of Common Grackles. We were quite happy to see that they were collecting food and feeding it to their two recently-fledged young. Below are some photos of the grackle family.
